POSTPARTUM SUPPORT
"Debbi was amazing in helping me adjust to being a new mother. I struggled with lots of anxiety when my daughter was first born and. When I first brought my daughter home I was very overwhelmed, very anxious and emotional. Debbi was wonderful in helping me "trust my instincts" and do what was best for me & my newborn daughter. She let me cry on her shoulder while discussing my fears, setbacks and concerns with becoming a new mother. Debbi helped me learn new things that were completely foreign to me such as using different swaddles (thank you again for the amazing Miracle Swaddle, my favorite one!), The 5 S's (which I had never heard of)
and connections on breastfeeding support. Thanks again for everything, you were amazing!"

I am so happy and so blessed to have had Deb as my Doula. Not only did she support me when I had mild PPD but she gave me the confidence that I could be the mother I have become. She helped me through the roughest time of my life as I was a first time, I did not know what to expect. Deb was such a great support when my family wasn’t there for me. I would hire all over again, definitely. I love Deb!

"Debbi was heaven sent into our family, right as our first son was born and we, as new parents really needed some support and help in transitioning to a family of 3 with a newborn! She helped us daily with dozens of things, from rocking the baby so I (tired mom) could take a much needed nap, gave me all kinds of great tips about breast feeding that made my experience so much better and rewarding (side-lying nursing). She taught us ways to help our colicky baby, helped with light house work, helped set up our nursery. She came in and was so sensitive to our needs and fit so perfectly in our family dynamics. We loved her instantly. She was always happy, encouraging and just a ray of sunshine in our home. We will always be grateful for Debbi's help and wonderful, loving service! We recommend her wholeheartedly!
Love you."

Debra is amazing! We have hired her for both a postpartum doula/mothers helper two separate times we have visited Tarzana.
The first time we met Debra, my daughter was 1 month old and we asked my mother in law to help watch her. Knowing it could be a little overwhelming for her, we decided to hire Debra to help her. We were so happy we did! After the first day, my mother in law was glowing with so many positive comments about what Debra helped with and how she coached her through the day. Debra really helped her remember all the little tips she had forgotten when taking care of a 1 month old. By the end our visit, my mother in law and Debra became good friends, and my mother in law was very confident in caring for our daughter.
We recently hired Debra to care for our child at 3 months old as well for full time care while we were in a course. Unfortunately our daughter was sick prior to our visit, but Debra was a gem and helped her recover! I'm sure there were many fussy times for our daughter especially being sick for the first time, but Debra helped us trouble shoot and made our daughter comfortable taking her on walks around our hotel, playing with her and just snuggling with her. She also is such a great advocate for us requesting a room switch when she noted construction taking place directly over our hotel room ( not good for sick sleeping baby).
We really love Debra as a care taker for our daughter. She is experienced and very caring. I can't thank her enough for all the help she has provided us. We will be visiting Tarzana a few more times this year and I know I will request her services for our visits. Our daughter can't wait to see her soon!

"Debra helped our family from August through November 2015 during the first four weeks and the last four weeks of our daughter Stella's newborn period. As first-time parents, Debra was a wonderful coach who helped guide us in the very early stages of parenthood. She helped us learn and practice various infant care skills from bathing, swaddling, cloth diapering and baby wearing. She offered me breastfeeding support by teaching me the side lying position and also how to pump! She imparted many practical tips and great product recommendations. At each visit, she also helped with light housekeeping on top of whatever I had on the agenda for the day. Her emotional support during the early weeks of postpartum recovery was invaluable.
Debra's services would greatly benefit families with newborns, especially the new parents. She is a great coach and gave us the confidence and encouragement to follow our chosen parenting style.
I wholeheartedly recommend her as a postpartum doula."
Sincerely,
Monica D-

LABOR SUPPORT
I had the priviledge of having Debra support me through the birth of my firstborn, Hudson. I had absolutely no idea what to expect out of a natural birth as I was/am the only person in my family to pursue an unmedicated birth, at home! The first time I met Debra, I knew she would be a part of my birth team. She had a completely calming, confident aura about her. And let me tell you, as a first time mom, that was gold! I was nervous; she calmed all my fears. I was unsure; she was confident in my ability. By the end of our first meeting, I felt empowered to give birth the way I envisioned! That's when I knew Debra was the doula for me. I tend to be an anxious person in situations I cannot control, but she made me feel safe and heard and supported.
Leading up to the birth, we discussed in detail the type of environment, and the type of physical and emotional support I desired. When the time came, it was as if I didn't need to say a word. She was so in tune with what I needed and wanted. My birth was calm, quiet, beautiful, supported, strong, and loving. Debra was at the center of all of it. I highly recommend Deb to anyone looking for a doula. She will be the best emotional and physical support! I moved to TX before the birth of my second and if I could have gotten her here fast enough for that birth, I would have!

Deb was wonderful throughout my pregnancy and birth! We didn't attend any birthing classes so in our pre-meetings she educated us, answered any questions we had, gave advice when I asked, advised me on my birth plan, etc. This was our first child so knowing that we had someone who had knowledge and could guide us through the process was a relief for both my husband and I. My labor progressed pretty quickly so Deb met us at the hospital. She was by my side the entire time - getting a cold wash cloth for my forehead, ice chips, a vomit bag, washcloth with peppermint to help my nausea - every time I turned around she had something I needed. I never needed to ask. That meant my husband never had to leave my side throughout the birth. Deb even helped take pictures once our daughter was born! I'd be happy to recommend Deb to anyone - she's an amazing help for both partners during pregnancy and birth!

Deb came into our lives in a serendipitous way. We miscarried our first pregnancy, and so with our second - I, especially, knew I wanted emotional and tangible support. We also live far from family and wanted to ensure that we had the knowledge, experience, and care we needed during our labor. Whereas Deb's presence during the labor and birth was immeasurable, it was also her incredible support leading up to that day that we'll forever be thankful for. I recall meeting her for the first time when interviewing and feeling immediately "known" in terms of the fears, grief - and hope - I had for this second pregnancy. She understood - and our talks felt like therapy to me - healing as much as they were training. Deb gave us tours of the birth center, came to our home (which is a far distance) - and was always a phone call or email away. There were times that I could talk with my husband, my mom, or friends, but until I talked with Deb it was only then that I felt validated and confirmed in any pre-birth decisions. She helped us learn to be strong, confident, and our own advocates - and advocates for our baby. I had a very quick labor - and I have to attribute some of that to Deb's great tips and preparation in advance. Deb will forever be a part of our story - and the story of our beautiful baby girl! I would recommend her without hesitation - and especially to anyone who has suffered a prior loss or trauma. She is a doula - a healer, a baby wisperer, a friend.

"I want to thank you for every single inch of support during our labor process. We both look back and can't help but gush about how perfect everything happened. Your words of wisdom and love were a huge part of that perfection. We are so in love with our baby and we're both glad you were a part of his welcome. Thank you, thank you, thank you."

"She is a mother figure of the most ancient kind. Her life experience empowers you. She is a reassuring presence who will always listen to you and support you in your chosen path. She will remind you of those choices, and the reason you made them, when you doubt, are anxious, or afraid. She sees you; the real you. Her understanding of your journey supports your self-confidence. She eases pain with a touch, a word, a look…She is a Doula.
Debbi- I will always be grateful for your encouragement, for your knowledge, for your sweet words, your caring touch and the love you undeniably have for your amazing profession. I thank you for empowering my daughter, and for instructing her through her remarkable journey. It truly does take a village, and I’m so thankful that you are a member of the village who helped bring Drew Odin into this wonderful world."
From a very excited and grateful Abuelita, Thank you!

Getting a doula is the best decision I made and I got so lucky to find Deb. She is not just a doula, she is your friend and in the delivery she is ‘your eyes’ on everything while you can concentrate on just relaxing, enjoying the labor to the fullest and concentrating on pushing the baby out in under 30 minutes. Deb is very knowledgeable about everything you need in the process. You will never regret hiring her to be by your side throughout the whole process whether if it is vaginal delivery or c-section. I am definitely hiring her for our second time around.

"My husband and I were hesitant about hiring a doula at first, but so incredibly glad we hired Debra! After several interviews with other doulas, we instantly felt comfortable with Deb and her relaxed attitude and non-judgmental vibe. As a first time mom, I had a million questions about labor and delivery, and after meeting with Deb, a lot of my fears went away. One thing we really appreciated was her extremely quick responses with texts and emails. She was willing to meet with us several times at our home and even offered to accompany me to my OB appointments so the labor team could meet!
Though the labor did not go as planned, we were very thankful to have Deb there with us during the birth. It was wonderful having her there for support and expertise. She was a great coach to my husband and offered a lot of great suggestions to get the labor to progress.
Our overall experience with Deb was wonderful, throughout the pregnancy, birth and postpartum. It was really nice having someone to talk to whenever I had any concerns. I would definitely 100% recommend hiring Debra as a doula. She is the best!"
